Em 7 de Junho, fui para Erlangen com alguns brasileiros que moravam em Bayreuth. Nosso destino era um festival da cerveja que ocorre todo ano na cidade, o Erlangen Bergkirchweih (algo como feira ou festival da montanha/colina), apelidado de Berch que é a pronúncia na Franconia da palavra Berg. Ele sempre começa na quinta-feira antes de Pentecostes.
O festival ocorre em uma área ao norte de Erlangen, onde possui um dos maiores Biergarten a céu aberto da Europa, tendo cerca de 1 km de extensão, com mais de 11 mil assentos e várias mesas espalhadas pela área.
Por ano, cerca de um milhão de pessoas prestigiam o festival, quase dez vezes a população da cidade. É considerada a terceira maior feira ou festival da Alemanha, e um dos mais antigos, sendo realizado desde 1755.
Na parte da manhã pegamos um trem para Nuremberg, para comprar a roupa tradicional da Baviera, a Lederhose, para um dos brasileiros.
Eu não tinha e nem pretendia comprar, já que a calça ficaria quase 100 euros!!! Mas após alguma insistência (e de ver que era legal ^^'), acabei comprando uma roupa improvisada e com um preço razoável XD
Após almoçarmos em Nuremberg, fomos então para Erlangen.

Sério, o lugar estava bem cheio e levou um tempinho para encontrarmos uma mesa livre que não estivesse reservada. Mas depois de encontrar foi só alegria ^^ Muitas canecas de 1 litro de cerveja, uma boa música ao vivo, pessoas cantando, dançando e rindo muito.
Os preços eram meio salgados já que uma caneca dessas era 8 euros + 5 euros do pfand que você recuperava depois. Mas valia cada centavo, a cerveja era muito boa. Não cheguei a comprar nada para comer, mas também era caro pelo que vi.
Em um dos momentos que estávamos cantando músicas brasileiras, conseguimos encontrar um brasileiro que era de Curitiba. Sério, tem brasileiro em todo lugar ahhaha
Ficamos lá até umas 21:30 e poderíamos ficar mais se não fosse o horário do trem. A hora de ir embora foi bem difícil, não só porque queríamos ficar mais tempo, mas porque simplesmente era complicado andar. Nunca me senti tanto uma sardinha enlatada como naquele dia. Nem conseguimos recuperar o pfand porque mal conseguimos chegar perto do local, fomos embora com as canecas mesmo ahhahah Uma pena que fui obrigado a levar uma que não era muito bonita :(
Caso esteja interessado em ir ano que vem, minha recomendação é chegar cedo, no máximo um pouco depois do almoço. O lugar lota bem rápido e à noite é terrível para se movimentar. No caminho para estação de trem, encontramos muitas pessoas indo para o festival, então já estava lotado e iria ficar ainda mais hahahah
Valeu muito a pena ir para esse festival, me diverti pra caramba. Agora é esperar pela Oktoberfest, imagino que será tão bom quanto ^^

On June 7th, I went to Erlangen with some Brazilians that lived in Bayreuth. We went to an annual Beer Festival, the Erlangen Bergkirchweih (something like mountain/hill fair), locals nickname it Berch, which is the Franconian pronunciation of Berg. It always begins on Thursday before Pentecost.
The Bergkirchweih area is located in the northern of Erlangen, where there is one of the biggest open-air-biergarten in Europe, with almost one kilometer long, more than 11 thousand seats and many tables spread in all area.
About 1 million people, almost 10 times the town's population, go to the festival. Because this, the Bergkirchweih is considered the third biggest fair in Germany, and one of the oldest ones, it has been occuring since 1755.
In the morning, we took the train to Nuremberg to buy the traditional cloth of Bavaria (Lederhose) to one of the Brazilian.
I did not have it and I did not intend to buy one since the cloth was almost 100 euros!!! But after they insist a little (and I see it is cool ^^'), I just bought an improvised cloth with a reasonable price.
After having lunch in Nuremberg, we went to Erlangen.
Really, the place was crowded and we took some time to find a free table that was not reserved. But after finding one it was okay ^^ Several 1 liter mugs of beer, good live music, people singing, dancing and laughing a lot.
The prices were a little expensive since one mug was 8 euros + 5 euros of pfand you could get back later. But it was worth each cent, the beers were really good. I did not buy anything to eat, but it was as expensive as the drinks.
In one of the moments we were singing Brazilian songs, we could meet a Brazilian guy that was from Curitiba. Really, there are Brazilians everywhere hahaha
We stayed there until 21:30 and we could stay more if we did not have to take the train. The time to go back home was difficult, not only we wanted to stay more time, but because it was complicated to walk. I couldn't go to the place to get back pfand, we had to take the mugs with us hahaha It is too bad I was obligated to carry one I did not like too much :(
In case you are interested to go next year, I recommend to arrive early, until one hour after lunch. The place is crowded really fast and in the evening is awful to walk.
It was worth going to the festival, I had a lot of fun. Now, I have just to wait for Oktoberfest, I think it will be great ^^
